Birthdays

Since the last time I posted anything, Abby turned 4!!! We had a wonderful dinosaur birthday party for her at a local playground (Buttermilk Falls), and she insisted on inviting her entire preschool! Thankfully the weather cooperated and we had an awesome day. Because having 20+ kids at our house would have been a pretty un-awesome day. A lot of my time was spent with the video camera, so at some point I will render the video small enough to put it on here, but for now, enjoy a few pictures of that great day! (Not included are pictures of Karen's really cool homemade dinosaur cake and dinosaur cookies - somebody took a picture of them, so once we get them I'll put those up as well. We only have a video...)

Daddy and his little girl.

Abby scarfing down some cake. I believe she's eating the candy on top that made the stegosaurus plates. Daddy ate most of those...

Decorations and good friends.

The one thing Abby repeatedly asked us for was a kitchen set. And being wrapped around her finger, we got her one. After about 4 -5 hours of assembly (seriously, not even the knobs were attached), we surprised her with it the night before her birthday (since she had to go to preschool on her birthday, we wanted her to be able to play with it as soon as she got it). She loves it! In fact, she was so excited the first night Karen had to cover it with a blanket at bedtime, because Abby said "I can't sleep because it's just so beautiful."

Yes, we do have 2 children, and Timmy did have a birthday during our recent journey toward summertime. We didn't particularly have a party, but he did have cake! Karen and the kids picked me up from school and we all went to a local pizza place called The Nines, where we had Tim's favorite 2 things...pizza and cake! He was very excited!

Not to be outdone, here's Abby with her cake at Grandma and Grandpa's! She had a wonderful time with G&G and Aunt Sarah during her special birthday weekend, and while Karen and I didn't exactly relax while she was away, we got a ton of cleaning done. That's cool, right? No? Yeah, I guess we're getting old. Anyway, the last picture is just a beautiful one of Abigail in Duanesburg opening some presents. Look at that smile!
